Hacienda Maison

Welcome to Hacienda Maison! Our grand historic New Orleans home offers you 4,500 square feet in splendid resort living, with meticulously restored interiors set amid lush, tropical grounds. Relax in the parlor room, prepare a meal in the chef's kitchen, or sleep comfortably in one of the seven well-appointed bedrooms. Featuring a tropical heated pool, hot tub, outdoor kitchen, and a large area for outdoor dining. 

Built in the 1850s, restored in 2014.  With 7 beautiful bedrooms hosting a total of 9 queen and king size beds and 5.5 baths, we can host up to 18 guests — or even more if you give us advance notice (we are friendly with other Airbnb hosts in the immediate vicinity). 

The Maison has an enormous front porch and second floor gallery overlooking the street, very high ceilings, ornate detailing, lavish decoration, and beautiful art throughout the house.  We are centrally located in New Orleans, an easy 5-min/$7 Uber or Lyft to the French Quarter, and less than 20 minutes to/from the airport.  

About the House and Bedrooms

PARLOR ROOM
The parlor room is a large lounge (18'x34') built for entertaining. Here you will find large windows, two leather couches set opposite one another, a coffee table, and a stage topped with another couch and two enormous throne chairs. This room also contains a motorized projector screen that descends from the ceiling in front of the stage. It is possible to connect a computer to this screen via an HDMI hookup for presentations, and to cast via Chromecast.

Main floor: 

— The Green Room: The Green Bedroom is located on the first floor of the house granting guests easy access to all the amenities. The gilded mirror above the mantle is perfectly angled at the queen bed. Close the thick velvet drapes for sleeping in after a late night, or open them for a bright, cheery feel. Your beautiful, private bathroom has a jacuzzi tub for relaxing as well as a shower.  

— The Lush Nook: Bedroom located on the first floor with an ensuite bathroom with claw foot tub and view of the pool. Queen bed.   

Second floor: 

— The Master Suite: The Master Suite is fit for a hedonist God or Goddess.  Exquisite lighting throughout. Large bedroom with a plush king size bed and comfortable tufted purple couch. Exclusive access to the long front balcony overlooking the street. Pocket doors (to remain open) separate the huge bathroom that has lots of natural light streaming through cheerful orange curtains. Double head standing shower, claw-foot tub, vanity, double sink, toilet closet.  

— The Golden Room: One can't help but feel happy in this glowing gem of a room. Comfortable queen sized bed, small vanity, large armoire. Windows overlooking the pool and side yard. Shared 2nd floor bathroom. 

— The Blue Bedroom: With the sound of the waterfall out in the pool, this serene room is a fun place for friends who want to share a room. Two queen size beds, vanity, large armoire. Shared 2nd floor bathroom.  

— The Satellite Room: Bright, cozy, balcony-facing room. This room is great for someone who likes peace and quiet as it's a bit apart from the rest of the house. Shared bathroom down the hall.  

Third floor: 

— The Silver Suite: Large attic room with two queen mega beds. Ensuite bathroom. The tub with handheld shower is in the room, by the window. Dresser, exposed beams, and a decorative cage complete this room.  

Guests have access to a backyard oasis featuring a pool, hot tub, outdoor kitchen (with barbeque grill), and plenty of spaces to relax. The indoor kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, cooking utensils, plates, knives, forks etc, and everything you need for cooking for a group, including Wolf range with open-flame grill and 1500 CFM vent fan. 

Featuring a stage, thrones, and a projector, the Parlor Room is great for hanging out casually. Ask us about our catering, entertainment, and demo recommendations!  

For an additional charge we are often able to provide house keeping services to include beds made, fresh towels, kitchen/living room/pool area tidied. Advance notice is preferred, but we can often offer this service last minute.  

The patio in the back with pool and hot tub is yours and not shared with anyone--we only come back there to adjust spa controls. The hot tub and the pool is heated year round.

All three floors are all yours! Don't miss the adorable room off the small balcony, when you get to the second floor, hang a left to step outside to the balcony that leads to a bedroom people have a hard time finding.  

We check guests in in person, show you around the space, answer any questions.  During your stay, we give you your space but are available any time by phone and text.  

About the Area

Nestled in the heart of the 7th ward bordering Esplanade Ridge, we're about a mile from the French Quarter and a mile from City Park and the New Orleans Museum of Art. Only half a mile from the Fair Grounds which host Jazz Fest. Nearby you can find Pagoda Cafe, Li'l Dizzy's Cafe, Liuzza's, Buttermilk Drop Bakery and Cafe. Two locally owned groceries about a mile away Circle Foods and Cansecos, and a Whole Foods 1.5 miles away. The French Quarter, Downtown, Midcity, and Uptown are easily accessible by car, bus or cab. Walking to the French Quarter or to City Park is about 20 minutes.  We are centrally located in New Orleans, an easy 5-min/$7 Uber or Lyft to the French Quarter, and less than 20 minutes to/from the airport.  

House Rules

Please read our whole list below regarding care of this very special property and share it with your entire group. Each item that's added is a reflection of  choices of previous guests. Renters must accept an agreement to follow these rules. Thank you!   

-Only registered guests of your renting party and hired services are allowed in the house. Please do not bring in any other guests.

-Do not change the hot tub controls, you will lose your entire deposit. 

-No sleeping on couches, be careful with keys or sharp objects on the leather sofas. Damaging the sofas could cost your whole deposit. 

-Lock all doors when you leave the house. 

-Clothing must be worn on balconies and outside the fence at all times. Please respect our neighbors. 

-Quiet hours between 10pm and 10am. This means no yelling, whooping, screaming, shouting or other things drunk people do outside! Our good relationship with our neighbors is priceless. We could dock your deposit for disruptions. 

Our sound system shuts down at 8pm. You’re welcome to bring small portable speakers for INSIDE during that time! Absolutely no large speakers or bands may be brought to the property. 

-Please don't adjust anything in the audio cabinet in the Parlor (it's labeled)—all controls you need for music are accessible on your phone in the Sonos app. 

-No pets. 

-No smoking in the house. Ashtrays are provided outside. 

-No candles, incense, or open flames. 

-No diving in the pool. 

-No glass outside. 

-No "decorating" -- taping things to the walls, hanging things. 

-Don't lose your keys! $50 key replacement fee. 

-Guests are responsible for cleaning grill after use to avoid $50 grill cleaning fee. 

-Guests are responsible for the removal of kitchen and bar trash to be deposited in the bins in the driveway.

-Please do not move furniture. If you absolutely must, lift, do not slide or drag. If you cause scratches/gouges to the floor, you may lose your entire deposit. 

-Please note that the pocket doors between the Master bedroom and master bathroom are to remain open. The water closet has a door for privacy.  

-Do not touch the hot tub controls, if you burn out a pump or heat the pool you will lose your deposit. The hot tub will remain on for most of your stay unless requested otherwise, however we do come to switch it off for approximately 6 hours every day to filter the pool. This generally happens between morning and early afternoon for most groups, if you would prefer a different time slot please let us know.  

Other Information

Our music system uses the Sonos app. You can download it for free from the App Store before or during your stay.

Upon your check in we encourage you to do a thorough walk through of the house and report any damages you may see right away. We have done the same prior to your check in in order to hand you a house in good condition. You are responsible for any damages to the house upon check-out. As the renting party you will be accountable for the behavior of everyone in your group. We also remind you to please use alcohol responsibly as this has usually been a factor in previous damages done to the property. Thank you for your understanding around our specificity!  

Check in is 3pm or later and check out is 11am or earlier. Please let us know by email, text, or call what time you intend to arrive so we may greet you. On your checkout date, we generally come by for a casual check out, however, if we are unavailable at your checkout time, please follow the instructions on the placard by the door.

Like with AirBnB, Identification is required to book. When you make your booking, please send a photo of your ID to haciendanola@gmail.com, tell us about your group and your reason for your visit, and if you have any special considerations.
